Description: Map of the Island of Cyprus. Large cartouche to bottom right hand side. An early fine example  from Blaeu's 'Theatrum Orbis Terranum'.
Condition: Full margins and minor tear bottom left, expertly repaired. Modern hand colouring.
Information: Superb map of the Island of Cyprus, geographically based on the earlier work of Ortelius. Many of its decorative features were copied by other cartographers. Two coats of arms; at centre the arms of the House of the Lusignans, and at left the Turkish arms. The map is beautifully arrayed with compass roses, sailing ships, and rhumb lines. The large cartouche bottom right shows Leda being drawn across the sea in a seashell chariot being pulled by a pair of swans, while Cupid pierces her heart with an arrow.

Description: Decorative map of Sicily with fine detail in regards to the towns and villages and river systems. An early fine example from Blaeu's 'Theatrum Orbis Terranum'.
Condition: Trimmed to borders, though laid down on contemporary paper.
Information: The map is beautifully arrayed with compass roses , sailing ships and rhumb lines. There are two armorials top and centre right, the scale is illustrated with strapwork, and the title enclosed within a standard, bottom left, is held in the hands of Goddess of Plenty.

Condition: Fine condition, trimmed to margins and laid down on contemporaneous paper, Modern hand colouring.

Neptune holding a decorative cartouche on his shoulders, bottom left, top left Putti holding a crest and a banner of music and a simple scale in the top right. Compass roses, rhumb lines, two vessels and sea monster also shown.
Condition: Fine condition with good margins and minor centrefold crease. Modern hand colouring.
